10th Open Poetry Competition

1st Prize £150, 2nd £100, 3rd £50

Conditions of entry:

Poems may be up to 40 lines in length (excluding title) on any subject and in any form or style.

Please submit two copies of each poem, typed or clearly written on one side of A4 paper without any form of identification.  They should be written in English, unpublished not offered or accepted for publication nor entered into any other current competition and must not have been a prize winner in any other competition.

Each entry should be accompanied by a filled in Comp. form 09.cwk (WP).pdf.   

Poems cannot be returned or amended once submitted.

Whilst every care will be taken with the entries, no responsibility can be accepted for lost, damaged or delayed material.

The decision of the judge is final.  No correspondence will be entered into regarding the results.

Those shortlisted will be invited to read their entry at the awards celebration in January 2010.

Copyright remains with the author but Newark Poetry Society reserve the right to use poems in promotional literature for a period of 12 months after adjudication.

Entrants must be over 16.

The entry fee is £3 Sterling per poem.  Members of Newark Poetry Society may enter one free poem along with their other entries.  Cheques payable to Newark Poetry Society.
